In the journey of self-improvement,
Winston S. Churchill
every day is a chance to rewrite your story.
As the pen of life hovers over the pages of today,
remember:
‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal:
It is the courage to continue that counts.’
Today’s session with my Skyeng tutor was truly fascinating. These language classes are always a remarkable blend of language mastery, soft skills, and the art of asking thought-provoking questions to sustain meaningful dialogue. What made today’s session particularly noteworthy was my tutor’s objective perspective on the prospects and dynamics of Russia’s development. Previously, my views tended to be somewhat pessimistic, but hearing the insights of my English Master with extensive experience living abroad made me realize that things may not be as straightforward, and perspectives can be both optimistic and encouraging.
On another note, I stumbled upon a new blogger today – Vicky Zhao [BEEAMP]. Her educational content on effective communication skills and the art of expressing thoughts constructively is truly intriguing. What sets her apart is her ability to vividly demonstrate these skills through personal experiments.
Following my routine, I dedicated time today to practice phonetics and explore basic speech patterns and constructions. Admittedly, my speech skills are still a quite clumsy and awkward, but I believe that consistent practice and improvisation will help me overcome these barriers, allowing me to develop fluent and effective English speech. As the saying goes, “constant dripping wears away the stone”.
The rest of the day unfolded rather chaotically. I skipped my usual workout, giving myself a pass for the day. Yesterday’s intense sports marathon—battling through six kilometers of snowdrifts against a fierce blizzard — left me feeling physically drained. I’ll consider today a day of well-deserved physical rest.
Looking forward to more language adventures and self-discovery in the days to come.
