[26] report — Embracing English as a Tool

Study hard what interests you the most
in the most undisciplined,
irreverent and original manner possible

Richard Feynman
American theoretical physicist,
known for his contributions to quantum mechanics,
quantum electrodynamics, and particle physics.

Feynman believed that the best learning often happens when one approaches a subject with a sense of playfulness, curiosity, and a willingness to question and experiment. This approach can lead to deeper insights and a more profound understanding of the subject matter. He himself was known for his unconventional methods of understanding and explaining complex concepts in physics, and this quote reflects his philosophy on learning.

I think with this quote of the day I’m trying to justify my chaotic daily routine and approach to challenge in general…

I am gradually beginning to find the key to mastering the language to the level of a native speaker. Language should be perceived as a tool: watch and read what is interesting, what you want to understand; also observe native speakers, absorb as much content as possible and thereby nourish the subconscious; even if it seems that information is not memorized, it still creates an imprint in the memory and forms certain associative links.

I even think that sometimes I feel more comfortable using English. For example, when I remember one of the technical lectures I listened to on development. In this case, I write down my brainstorming ideas in English. My mindboard on the wall also became entirely in English. At first it was because it was a challenge, but now it’s a habit. In fact, a month has passed and I feel the result.

What else is there to say in Sunday’s report of the past week….. Oh, by the way, it’s Christmas. I’ve forgotten how it’s celebrated, I’ve gotten away from the ceremonies.

So the week went pretty well. I haven’t managed to regain much sleep, but that’s because it’s hard to tear myself away from absorbing English-language content. Before, I didn’t pay attention to many details and even just ignored them. Now, on the contrary, I absorb all the new information.

Achievements for Today

  • Started researching the song “What Are You Waiting For.”
  • Learned about blending and alteration words in songs, it reminds me typoglycemia term

Unmet Goals and Reflections

  • Didn’t have time today to pay attention to the multitasking planner what I had planned yesterday
  • I’ve been skipping sports practice again. It’s bad.

Looking Ahead

  • I’m going to try a new tactic: in each report, add ideas and a plan for the next day. And so, tomorrow I need to plan the coordination of colleagues while I’m on vacation for the rest of the month. Then choose a sports training program for at least the next 3 weeks. Also need to determine what to do with parallel projects on CGI and WebDev.
