[22] report — Reading is the cornerstone of enlightenment, laying the foundation for informed perspectives

The art and science of asking questions
is the source of all knowledge.

Thomas Berger, American novelist

A new tactic for strategic goal achievement: read at least one book in English every month. It may even be worth trying to read aloud, but to do this you need to thoroughly go through the basics of phonetics.

It turns out that in the course of the challenge I will study literature that I would have previously started reading in translation. By the way, perhaps I should start reading from those English-language books that I read in Russian.

As for polishing grammar and phonetics, I need to decide on tactics for learning and parallel development of my own projects. It is also necessary to get acquainted with linguistic analysis of the necessary vocabulary, expressions, everyday patterns, dialog topics, cursive phrases, etc.

With all this intense immersion in the Challenge, one must also not forget about side projects. This year I have to do CGI, OpenAI chatGPT revision, etc.

I guess that’s it for today, I’m going to bed at 1:40, I’m a bit late, but overall the day is getting back on track. Each diary entry will now be accompanied by an English phraseology, famous quote, catchphrase or winged expression.

Achievements for Today

  • I’ve curated a reading list, introducing a new tactic—to read at least one English book per month. Once I grasp phonetics and elocution, I aim to venture into reading aloud.
  • Adopted a new tactic: reading at least one English book per month. Once I grasp phonetics and diction, I can start practicing reading aloud.
  • Accomplished a substantial amount of work, ensuring a distraction-free weekend. With vacation until the end of January, I can refine strategies for tackling the challenge.

Unmet Goals and Reflections

  • Insufficient exercise. Need to dedicate more time to physical workouts and cardio for heightened productivity, motivation, and mindfulness.

Looking Ahead

  • Despite the improvisation, the past month has been engaging and fruitful. Sensing progress in English and not yet experiencing the Dunning-Kruger effect, making the annual goal seem achievable.
