Today I formed a clearer description of the strategic plan for the English Language Challenge to Fluent level for the year. Later, I will add other types of planning (operational, tactical, contingency) later, I spent a lot of time today.
In the process of writing the strategic plan, I began to better visualize the options for the realization of the culminating project – the application or platform that I plan to create based on the experience of this Challenge.
Key ideas for automating learning:
- Systematize the keeping of a learning diary. We need to automate practice on the four language skills, and provide systems for self-reflection and analysis. Currently I keep this diary manually, but how convenient it would be if I had an AI assistant keeping me company.
- I lack a system for researching new words and expressions. I need a hybrid like Anki app, Yandex Translate – Examples, OED (Oxford English Dictionary), Memrise, etc. Also need a screen text to analyze the current vocabulary, then automatically suggest learning new words based on the current level of the learner. In general, statistical research on word usage and contextual phrases is quite interesting, it would be good to include such material as well.
- Gamification elements, progress bar, analytical elements, competitive rankings by community are a must – this will help ignite motivation and immerse you in a state of flow.
- I bielibe it is need a certain platform where everyone could collectively build a course with clear roadmap (or several courses and it is variations). Adjust, discuss, supplement.
It took more than 3 hours to learn new expressions and words for C2 level. This is fine for the first time, but later on such time expenditure is unacceptable. Automation would solve these problems, but at the same time, it would make the learner on this format even more dependent on gadgets, computer and automated system. Is this a good thing? We are turning into cyborgs, who without technological toys are like a turtle without a shell.

- Gradually, I need to develop a concrete plan for your daily routine so that way I can better control my time and manage to accomplish multiple tasks in a day. I can’t handle multitasking at the moment.
